Today would have been my mother’s 70th birthday, so I wanted to share a list of things that I loved about my mom.

  • Her strong faith in God
  • She had unconditional love
  • She was honest
  • She was a prayer WARRIOR and would shake and storm the gates of hell!!
  • She loved her family fiercely though she struggled to show it emotionally and would show it more practically
  • She was beautiful
  • She taught me many important life lessons
  • Her sacrificial spirit. She sacrificed a lot for her children!!
  • Her strength and resilience. She overcame a tremendous amount of adversity in her life!!
  • She was always determined to make things work
  • She was the backbone of our family
  • She was very empowering
  • She was very intuitive
  • Her belief in her kids
  • She didn’t care what people thought of her
  • She was an amazing cook!!
  • She loved and was very knowledgeable of holistic health and apothecary and owned a health food store
  • She loved to garden
  • She loved her farm animals and had exotic chickens
  • Her humor was top notch, and she was very witty
  • She was extremely strong willed
  • She was very adaptable
  • She was very genuine. What you saw is what you got. Her yes was yes and her no was no.
  • She was gracious
  • She was humble
  • She was assertive
  • She was decisive
  • She was rational and level minded
  • She was sincere
  • She was practical
  • She had keen discernment
  • She wouldn’t take crap from legalists and taught her kids not to either. One time a man from church told her she shouldn’t be wearing makeup and jewelry and so she told him he needs to take his necktie necklace off haha
  • She longed to see her savior face to face
  • She loved to study the bible
  • She was very scholarly and loved to study in depth
  • She understood God’s grace as a free gift and that salvation cannot be earned and that fruit was the natural result of abiding in Christ. She understood the difference between justification/sanctification/glorification
  •  She looked at religious pride and thinking one can enter sinless perfection before translation (glorification) as glory theft, stealing God’s glory for God alone is just, faithful and true in all his ways and that humans are to have a heart posture of humility before God
  • She would always point her kids and others to God’s righteousness vs human’s unrighteousness
  • She had a true understanding of her shortcomings but always trusted in the mercy and edification of a covenant keeping God. That God loves us just as we are but because he does love us, he doesn’t leave us as we are, and he always makes up for the lack where we fall short through his righteousness as we abide in him.
  • She taught me that God is love and only love and if you hear anyone teaching otherwise then they are not getting their revelation from Jesus for Jesus reveals the father’s heart.
