He is risen! How enemy love overcame darkness through the wisdom and power of love.
2,000 years ago the son of God laid down his life in triumphant victory over the gates of hell through the wisdom and power of the cross which is the wisdom and power of love. We love because he first loved us.
Nothing can subdue enmity more than enemy love. God judged the world with righteous judgment when satan lied to Mankind in the Garden of Eden veiling God’s wisdom and love. Instead of punitive justice, God sought restorative justice. Instead of looking at external behavior, God looked at the root of human disobedience which is fear and lack of trust in him. Through perfect, sacrifical love, God came to cast out our fear and lack of trust in him.
Satan lies to mankind and wants us to think that God is not a god of good but of evil, and that God is withholding good from mankind. Satan wants us to believe the lie that God cannot be trusted and that God withholds good from us when the only thing that God withholds is the knowledge of evil. This is a experiential knowledge of evil. Why would the god of good want us to have a knowledge of evil? Evil in hebrew means disorder, woe, chaos. Which is the complete opposite of peace and rest.. The complete opposite of good.
During creation week God created the world from his wisdom of love. Divine love seeks not its own, it’s selfless in nature. It promotes peace and unity in diversity. The ecosystems of the world examplify the truth of this reality.
The wisdom from above is first pure which is unselfish and then peaceable. James 3:17
The word good which is Tov in Hebrew means working as intended. It brings life and peace.
The cross when rightly understood destroys man’s enmity and power struggle with God and inspires one to open their heart to God. The message of the cross provokes to love vs wrath. One sees that God isn’t selfish or controlling but desires them to have life and life more abundantly. The carnal mind is naturally at enmity with God and his law. They don’t see God and his law of love as good and life but annoying and controlling
Trust was lost at the tree of knowledge of good and evil and trust is restored when one beholds the father’s and Jesus’ sacrifice at the “tree” cross which in itself became a type of tree of life.
God was in Christ reconciling man to him. God is not at enmity with man. Man is at Enmity towards God.
God is inviting us to eternal life which we begin to live when we live by truth and love. Eternal life is the good life, the abundant life that Jesus mentioned in John 10:10.
“the thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” John 10:10
