There can be much focus on the law of God in a legal sense, and our obligation to obey it but legality has no power to transform the heart. This is where Jesus and his grace take center stage. When one has security in Christ, maturity becomes the natural product of a personal relationship with Jesus. Security brings about maturity.
When we have pure faith and feel whole in Jesus, to where we feel we lack nothing, this transforms the character into a temple of love, and this expels the man of sin out of our spirit temple. Having power, love and a sound mind through the Holy Spirit will lead to greater growth, fruit and spiritual maturity faster and more powerfully than legality ever could.
Where the presence of Jesus is there is peace in the soul and this peace transforms us into the image of Christ. We become born of love, where our spirit temple has eyes that see the best in people, and see clearly, hands that build up, lips that speak the law of kindness, ears that can use active listening with empathy, feet that are quick to help and serve.
By beholding we become changed and by beholding the beauty of holiness in Jesus who is the living walking law of love in the flesh, when we behold his love, faithfulness, righteousness, we become changed into his image. When our affections are heavenly focused, and fixed on Jesus, when Jesus is in the Holy of Holies of our spirit temple, we have quiet assurance and this brings soul rest which brings about inner beauty, fruit of the spirit, a temple of love. 1 John 4:8
